CCIE Senior Network Engineer
Position Overview:
The ideal Senior Network Engineer candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years senior level experience in network security administration, including firewall, VPN, and intrusion detection/prevention support.
Experience must include:
- Experience must include firewall support; Juniper Netscreen and SRX preferred
- Experience identifying security risks and proposing solutions to problems
- Experience with architecture of professional data center grade networks preferable
- Experience providing senior level security support in diagnosis and identifying corrective actions to address network security design faults
- Five (5) years working knowledge of the following technologies: VPN (IPSec and SSL), standards based routing protocols, copper and optical physical media, highly available layer 2 and layer 3 environments
- Capacity planning of physical infrastructure and logical deployment
- Must have CCIE: Routing and switching or equivalent experience.
- Must have design experience; designing and deploying large private networks, and managing telecom providers to meet this end.
Technical Skills / Responsibilities:
- Installing and managing routers & switches, PIX/ASA and IDS/IPS security devices
- Configuration of DNS and DHCP services, Check Point firewall systems, internet service, remote access (WAN, VPN) systems and network monitoring systems. Experience with Cisco NAC and CSA a plus.
- Must have CCIE: Routing and switching or equivalent experience. Hands on knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP etc).
- Successful candidate will have expert experience in IP networking, utilizing Juniper and Cisco hardware; and all types of IP routing utilizing a range of routing protocols. Extensive experience in traffic flow analysis, network management, network topology design, security, performance and fault tolerant architecture.
- Other experience desired would be SNMP, remote access VPN and WAN (Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS) management and VoIP.
- The candidate must have design experience using WAN technologies (OC-3, OC-12, etc), T-1, T-3, and E-1. Candidate must also have expert-level knowledge with layer 2/3 technologies, specifically CISCO Ethernet switches; and, be able to understand and configure switch ports and VLANS on CISCO devices.
- Hands-on experience solving network problems. Experience using protocol analyzers and understanding of communication protocol details. Be prepared to answer detailed questions about the protocols you claim you are knowledgeable about in your resume. Must be a self-learner.
- SSL and/or IPSec VPN, network load-balancers, protocol analysis (Sniffer), web proxy, SMTP e-mail relay and spam filtering, SNMP, DNS, VMWare
